Pet Toys

Pet toys are great for your home. Not only do they relieve the boredom and provide the extra bit of natural feistiness that cats and dogs have instinctually, they can also be a lot of fun for owners as well. But what types of activities are out there for your cat or dog, or even rabbit for that matter?

Some of the more exciting pet toys are treat dispensing ones. A simple design – a ball with a tiny hole in it, that when spun, rolled, or pushed causes tiny treat pellets to fall out that your pet, usually made for cats, can quickly gobble up. Your pet definitely won’t get bored of this one, and they’ll work off the extra calories of the treat.

For cats, one of the most fun items for the species is a toy that is stuff with catnip. A simple herb for humans, catnip puts cats in a euphoric state. They’ll toss the toy around, purr, and indulge themselves in touching it. But something that might be a bit more fun for you the owner, is a simple toy attached to a string. Dangle it in front of the cut or pull it along the ground, the cat will usually enjoy the chase and you can have fun playing along with it.

Dogs have a bit more variety available in pet toys. A simple stick may have sufficed in the past, but one of the most practical pet toys for a dog is a ball thrower. Made to snuggly fit a tennis ball or the like, these long handled devices allow you to easily pick up and throw the ball long distances, all without getting your hands dirty.
